Frequently asked questions
Can I use this for a German ID card or passport?
No. Since 1 May 2025 photos for the German Personalausweis and Reisepass must be digital and taken by a certified photographer or at the authority. For a driving licence, paper photos are still accepted.
What size is a biometric photo?
In the EU usually 35 × 45 mm with the head (chin to crown) taking up 32–36 mm. The US uses 2 × 2 inches.
How do I print the sheet?
Order a standard 10 × 15 cm photo print and make sure the service does not crop or scale the image.
