Frequently asked questions
Which costs may a landlord charge?
Only operating costs listed in the Operating Costs Ordinance (BetrKV) and agreed in the rental contract – e.g. property tax, water, heating, waste, cleaning, caretaker, insurance. Management and repair costs are not chargeable.
How long do I have to object?
Twelve months after receiving the statement (§ 556 (3) BGB).
