Frequently asked questions
How much does health insurance pay for a crown?
A fixed subsidy based on the standard care: in 2026 60 % of €398.39 (€239.03), 70 % with 5 years of bonus booklet and 75 % with 10 years. A more expensive material does not increase the subsidy.
What changes in 2027?
From 1 January 2027 the subsidy rates fall by 10 points to 50, 60 and 65 %. Finanztip estimates about €170 more co-payment for a bridge. If a treatment is planned anyway, doing it in 2026 can save money.
Does insurance pay for implants?
Implants are a different kind of care. You still get the fixed subsidy for the standard care of your finding – for one missing tooth that of a bridge – and pay the rest privately.
