Frequently asked questions
How is the value calculated?
Amount × index(end) ÷ index(start). Example: if prices rose 50%, €100 then equals €150 today.
Why annual averages?
They are the standard way to compare years and avoid seasonal effects; for the current year we use the latest monthly value.
Is the euro value before 2002 correct?
For years before 2002 enter amounts in euros (1 € = 1.95583 DM).
