Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel by email in Germany?
For most consumer contracts (phone, internet, gym, subscriptions, energy, insurance) text form such as email is enough. Rental and employment contracts require a handwritten signature on paper.
What does 'zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt' mean?
It cancels the contract as of the earliest legally possible date, so a miscalculated date cannot make your cancellation invalid.
How do I prove that my cancellation arrived?
Ask for written confirmation (included in the letter), keep the email or a screenshot of the cancellation button, or send by registered mail.
